Zen
Shiatsu was developed by Shizuto Masunaga, the founder
of the Iokai Centre in Tokyo. This style greatly differs
from the other, more classical styles of shiatsu because
it puts greater emphasis on the meridian work than on acupressure
points. In addition to that, Masunaga expanded the meridian
chart, found diagnostic zones on the abdomen and the back,
and reintegrated breathing exercises and Do-in exercises
into the treatment.
Masunaga's shiatsu family
program provides the basis for
this course taught in 45 hours (3X15 hours). The course
is not designed as professional training, but as an introduction
to basic shiatsu techniques. By practicing these simple
techniques, you can help your family and friends build
disease resistance and maintain their health.
